Silver Spring Man Arrested in Connection With May 14 Shooting at Metro Station

Jordan Jones, 24, of Silver Spring, has been arrested in connection with the May 14 shooting at the Sarbanes Transit Center in Silver Spring, according to Metro Transit Police. MTPD tweeted Tuesday morning that officers spotted Jones at the U St Station and apprehended him without incident. He is being charged with 1st Degree Assault (Gun).

Initial reports stated a man was shot around 9am that morning and transported to a local hospital. From our May 14th update: Metro Transit Police are investigating a shooting in the 8400 block of Colesville Road, according to a tweet by Montgomery County Police. At this time, there is heavy police presence in this area and as a result, the Silver Spring Metro is currently closed for both bus and train service until further notice. According to Metrorail, trains are temporarily bypassing the Silver Spring station and shuttle buses have been requested. We will post an update when more information becomes available.
