Updated to reflect the lockdown has been lifted
Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring was in a lockdown earlier this afternoon after a report of a weapon seen outside on school property, according to a message sent to the Blair community by principal Renay Johnson at 2:06pm. The lockdown was lifted after a review of video footage and school administrators are now coordinating dismissal plan. The message sent home at 2:06pm can be seen below:
“Dear Montgomery Blair High School Families,
I want to inform you that we are currently in a lockdown because a report was made to us that a weapon was seen outside on school property. Montgomery County Police are here and students and staff are safe in the school building. I will update you as more information becomes available.
Renay Johnson, Principal”
BLAIR HS UPDATE: School administration implemented lockdown shortly before 2PM Thursday after a student reported an altercation outside the school. After reviewing video footage, lockdown lifted. School administrators now coordinating dismissal plan.
