County Executive Marc Elrich and Other County Officials Discuss the Latest on Covid-19 and Response to Monkeypox (VIDEO)

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and other representatives from the County Government who help lead the County’s ongoing COVID-19 response efforts hosted their weekly, virtual media briefing at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17. The full video can be seen below (begins at 10:06)

The County Executive was joined by James Bridgers, acting health officer for Montgomery County, and Sean O’Donnell, public health emergency preparedness manager, to discuss the latest on COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations as we prepare for the start of school for many less than two weeks from now. They also talk about the County’s response to MPX (Monkeypox.)

The County Executive was also joined by Richard Madaleno, chief administrative officer for Montgomery County and a longtime Maryland lawmaker who served as both a delegate and senator while in Annapolis. Today he oversees expenditures and services across 30 County departments and will discuss the recent news that Montgomery County has for the 50th consecutive year earned a AAA bond rating for fiscal responsibility.
