Anyone interested in attending is advised to arrive early to avoid road closures. Additional information below, courtesy of the Burtonsville Day website.

Perrywood Drive will be also closed from Carson Drive to Old Columbia Pike from 9:30 am until approximately 11:00 am.

If you have anything planned outside of the neighborhood, we encourage you to leave earlier than the time stated above so that you will be able to travel on Old Columbia Pike. Thank you for your cooperation. In the event of an emergency, Montgomery County Police will make provisions for you to be able to leave the community, otherwise you will not be able to leave until after the parade.

Getting There

Walk, Roll, or Bike: If you live nearby, consider going car-free and avoid the hassle of parking. Old Columbia Pike has a striped bikeway on the shoulder and sidewalks.

Car: If driving, plan to arrive BEFORE the Old Columbia Pike Road Closure at 9:30 am. You can find free parking at:

  • Banneker Middle School
  • Paint Branch Middle School
  • Local streets

To allow people to watch the parade from the street, please do not park on Old Columbia Pike.

Transit: Unfortunately, there is no transit service to the Praisner Library: the Z6 and Z7 Metrobus only serve the library on weekdays.
