Rockville Police Respond to Report of Stabbing on Saturday Night; Two Victims Found

The Rockville City Police Department responded to the 700 & 800 block of Hungerford Drive for the report of a stabbing, where two adult male victims were located. Our public safety reporter Cordell Pugh tells us the incident occurred near Ivy League Lane at approximately 10:20pm on Saturday night.

Per Rockville Police: “There is no threat to the community. Montgomery County Police Department Major Crimes will assume this investigation.” This story will be updated with additional information, once we receive it.

Update from MCPDDetectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged 31-year-old Scorpio Alexander Standfield (unknown address) with two separate stabbings; one a homicide, that occurred on Saturday, September 3, 2022, on Hungerford Dr. in Rockville.  

At approximately 9:55 p.m., Rockville City Police, Montgomery County Police and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the 700 block of Hungerford Dr. in Rockville for the report of a stabbing that just occurred.

Officers arrived at the scene and located an adult male victim suffering from a stab wound. The victim gave a description of the suspect. Officers provided life saving measures to the victim who was then transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Officers located the suspect, later identified as Standfield, walking in the 900 block of Hungerford Dr. Officers placed Standfield under arrest and found items of evidentiary value in his possession.

While investigating the crime scene, officers also located another adult male victim, suffering from a stab wound, seated in his vehicle in the 800 block of Hungerford Dr. This victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Standfield was transported to the Montgomery County Central processing Unit, where he was charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault and first-degree murder.

The name of the deceased will be released following proper notification of the family.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.
