Olney Boys & Girls Club Granted Over 530 Scholarships Totaling Almost $73,000 to Kids Playing House Sports in 2022

The Olney Boys & Girls Club was able to grant scholarships to over 530 kids, in 2022 to play house sports that totaled nearly $73,000. The scholarships ensured that players that would be unable to participate financially would have the opportunity to play their favorite sport and stay active and healthy.

“One of the most personally rewarding programs we run is our scholarship program, said Brad Scott, director of the Olney Boys & Girls Club. “We always ensure that no child is unable to participate in our programs due to financial constraints.”

“We couldn’t have accomplished this without the support of all of our generous business sponsors, members of the organization, as well as the entire Olney community” Scott continued. “One of the best parts of my job is being able to say yes to families whose kids may not otherwise get to play. The appreciation they convey is so genuine and the impact on the kids so meaningful, it is a highlight for sure.” Said Kim Zelo who is the clubs Registrar and Program Administrator.

“Our Board and team at OBGC truly believe that no child should be left behind. We will always make sure each athlete has the opportunity to participate in any of our programs thanks to our incredible sponsors and donors.” said Jeremy Colville, Chairman of the Board for OBGC.
