Flames & Crepes, A New Halal Food Truck, is Now Open in Rockville

Flames & Crapes, a new halal food truck, recently opened  at 801 Hungerford Drive in Rockville. Owner Ashraf Said is originally from Egypt and has been a MoCo resident for over 18 years. He is bringing years of experience in restaurant management. His fiancé Marelyn is originally from El Salvador and, also a MoCo resident. They tell us she “brings the flavors of Latin America to many of the foods offered.”

The menu features a variety of dishes, including classic American fare like a steak and cheese, chicken sandwich, mango habanero wings, and more. Latin-American fare is also featured, such as yuca frita, pupusas, and tamales. They also offer a variety of crepes– both sweet and savory.

Said told us that Flames & Crepes is founded on the belief that food is a way to bring people together. They want their guests to feel welcome and relaxed when they come to the food truck. They strive to create a warm and inviting atmosphere where people can enjoy themselves in their outdoor seating.

Flames & Crepes is open six days a week (every day except Sunday) from 10am until 10pm. Their food is also available for delivery through UberEats, DoorDash, GrubHub, PostMates or from their website www.flamesandcrepes.com
