Free ‘Touch a Truck’ Event at Westfield Montgomery Saturday, July 15

Touch a Truck with Montgomery County Police Department, Bethesda Chevy Chase Fire Department, & more! Westfield Montgomery Mall to Bring the Community Together in the Cheesecake Factory Parking lot from 10am-1pm on Saturday, July 15

Westfield Montgomery Mall has announced its free, family-friendly and open to the public Touch a Truck Community Day event. Set to take place in the Cheesecake Factory parking lot on Saturday, July 15, from 10am to 1pm, the family-oriented affair promises to bring the community together with a myriad of local community partnerships and activations. The event promises something exciting for everyone, from bounce installations to truck moments and a kids magician/entertainer to face painting.

The day’s main attractions include special appearances, games, and giveaways by the Rockville City Police, Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection, Bethesda Chevy Chase Fire Department, Gaithersburg City Police, Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, Maryland Department of Transportation, and Montgomery County Police Department. Each department will showcase their vehicles — a police car, fire truck, and a SWAT Armored Truck — while providing attendees with recruiting information.

Further exciting exhibits include a tractor, dump truck, and excavator display by Green Earth, Montgomery County Recycling, and Digging and Rigging. The kids will also enjoy bounce installations by Z bounce and Mr. Pin from Lucky Strike will also make an appearance at this dynamic extravaganza. For those interested in giving back to the community, Interfaith Works will have a donation truck for used clothing, essential and food pantry items, and a table for volunteers.

At 11am the main stage will host a performance by the award-winning Great Zucchini, a kids entertainer and magician and “Washington’s top preschool entertainer” according to the Washington Post. Pet Connect Rescue, a non profit animal rescue organization committed to saving cats and dogs will also join the day’s events, and puppy lovers will have the chance to adopt domestic puppies on site. Food lovers can look forward to complimentary samples from Westfield Montgomery partners Lucky Strike, Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana, California Pizza Kitchen, and Shake Shack. A live DJ will keep the energy high throughout the day.

There will be a slew of tenant and neighbor pop-ups, such as Under Armour, Haagen-Daz, Tesla and Jim Coleman, and a dash of playful artistry with Princess Party Face Painters.

“We’re thrilled to host the Touch a Truck Community Day event at Westfield Montgomery Mall,” says Stuart Amos, Senior General Manager at Westfield Montgomery. “Our goal is to foster community engagement and provide a fun-filled day for families. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone there.”
