ABOUT THE ARTS BARN: The Arts Barn is Gaithersburg’s home for the performing and visual arts. Housed in a Victorian-era stable, the Arts Barn features a lively performing arts program including film, dance, music, theater, comedy, and magic, as well as showcasing local artists in special events, the City Art shop, and the rotating exhibitions in the Gallery. The Arts Barn is a program of the City of Gaithersburg.
ABOUT THE EVENT: City Shop, a program run by The City of Gaithersburg at Arts Barn, is pleased to offer the Here Come the Holidays Artisan Market on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at the Arts Barn and Kentlands Mansion, located at 311 & 320 Kent Square Road, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20878. This is an opportunity for the community to not only buy a one of a kind original handmade items made by local artists but also meet with the artists and understand the their processes that went behind the creation of the work. The Artisan Market will be held indoors within the City of Gaithersburg facilities.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
• The Registration Fee for accepted vendors wishing to have a space will be $30. All fees must be paid by selected vendors no later than October 13, 2023 to reserve a spot. If fees are not received by this date, the space will be forfeited and given to another vendor on the waitlist.
• All artwork must be original and created by the artist.
• Artist must handle their own sales (cash, credit card, and check), collect and pay sales tax to the State of Maryland. The Arts Barn will not be able to break large bills.
• Artists must bring their own packaging materials.
• The City of Gaithersburg is NOT responsible for damage or loss for any items on facility premises.
• Artists should insure or self-insure their work and equipment.
• No personal signs can be erected outside of your vendor area.
• WiFi and electricity are not guaranteed, please plan accordingly.
• Artists will be provided a table sized: 6’ x 2.5’. All items must fit on or directly adjacent to the 6’ x 2.5’ table area provided. Two chairs will also be provided. Artists will be located on the first floor and spaces are limited.
• Displays higher than 18″ on the table are not permitted to ensure safety.
• Please bring and use a solid black tablecloth for your table.
• All selected artists will need to complete a vendor agreement form and pay their fee by October 13, 2023 and provide either a Maryland Sales and Use Tax Certificate or a 30-Day Temporary Sales Tax License by Friday, October 27, 2023. Please allow sufficient time to get your materials from the State of Maryland, if necessary.

• Application Due: September 15, 2023
• Notification of Selection or Waitlist: September 29, 2023
• Vendor Agreement Form and Fee Due: October 13, 2023
• Sales and Use Tax Verification Due: October 27, 2023
• Date of Event: November 11, 2023.
• Merchandise set up: November 11, 2023 between 8 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.
• Sale Times: November 11, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• Take down is on November 11, 2023 between 4 – 5:30 p.m.
• Artists are expected to arrive and leave on time and be onsite the entire sale time.
DROP OFF AND PICK UP LOCATION: The Arts Barn and Kentlands Mansion are located at 311 & 320 Kent Square Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20878. Vendors may unload items near the doors to their assigned building. Please do not block the handicap ramp at the sidewalks. When finished unloading, please move your car to a marked parking spot in the lot along Inspiration Lane. There is ample parking along Inspiration Lane.
MARKETING: The City of Gaithersburg will promote this event, but participating artists are urged to advertise on their respective social media and via email to broaden the audience reach
