The MoCoShow High School Football Week 2 Top 10 (MCPS)

1. (LW 1) Quince Orchard 2-0: The Cougars earned their 2nd straight shutout of the season blanking Gaithersburg 56-0. Running Back Iverson Howard rushed for 113 yards and 2 Touchdowns on just 8 attempts. Quince Orchard will welcome Stone Bridge, from Ashburn VA to the CougarDome this Thursday in the MoCoShow Game of the Week!.

2. (LW 3) Northwest 2-0: The Jaguars made a statement dominating Damascus 47-14. Northwest will host Richard Montgomery on Thursday.

3.  (LW 4) Churchill 2-0: The Bulldogs won their 1st leg of the Congressional Cup defeating BCC 28-7. Running Back David Avit ran for 161 yards and 3 touchdowns in the victory.  Churchill will travel to Wootton next.

4. (LW 5) Sherwood 2-0: The Warriors inched out Paint Branch in a defensive struggle 8-7. Linebacker Vasili Siarkas led the defense with 10 tackles. Sherwood will travel to Magruder on this Thursday.

5. (LW 2) Damascus 1-1: The Swarmin’ Hornets fell to Northwest 47-14. Damascus will host Rockville next.

6. (LW 8) Walter Johnson 2-0: The Wildcats had a convincing win over Richard Montgomery 53-22. As a team they ran for 261 yards and 3 touchdowns. Walter Johnson will travel to Whitman on Thursday.

7. (LW 6) Paint Branch 1-1: The Panthers lost a heartbreaker to Sherwood 8-7. Quarterback Christopher Kriz accounted for 222 total yards and 1 touchdown in the loss. Paint Branch will host Springbrook on Thursday.

8. (LW 9) Blake 2-0: The Bengals shutout Kennedy 36-0.  Quarterback Kirby Matson was 6 for 6  for 115 yards and 3 touchdowns. Blake will host Einstein next.

9. (LW 10) Seneca Valley 1-1: The Screaming Eagles defeated Blair 20-14. As a team they ran for 141 yards and 2 touchdowns. Seneca Valley will travel to Clarksburg on Thursday.

10. (LW 9) Gaithersburg 1-1: The Trojans fell to Quince Orchard 56-0.  Gaithersburg will travel to Watkins Mill next.
