The Class 4A state championship lived up to its billing Friday night as top-ranked Quince Orchard edged Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School 26–21 at Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis. For the first time in 19 years, the Kennedy Cavaliers can call themselves winners of a regular season. With a dominant 42-6 victory over Poolesville on Friday night, the Cavaliers capped off a resurgent campaign at 5-4, their first winning record since 2006.
