Train Hits Tow Truck in Forest Glen on Saturday Night

Updated to include that the tow truck was stuck/disabled in the tracks.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a train hitting a tow truck at approximately 11PM on Saturday night.

According to our public safety reporter, Cordell Pugh, the unoccupied tow truck was struck by a freight train in the area of the Forest Glen Road/Linden Lane Railroad Crossing. The occupants of the tow truck exited prior to the collision. MCFRS chief spokesperson Pete Piringer stated that the flatbed tow truck became stuck/disabled on the tracks and that there was no derailment or fuel spill and no injuries.
