Police Respond to Theft and 1st Degree Assault in Restaurant Parking Lot Thursday Morning

On November 16 at approximately 9:40 am, Takoma Park Police responded to the 6500 block of New Hampshire Avenue (Mid-Atlantic Seafood restaurant parking lot) for a theft from auto and 1st-degree assault.

According to Takoma Park Police, “Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim interrupted an unknown suspect who was in his vehicle rummaging around.  The victim also noticed the rear driver-side window had been shattered.  When the suspect saw the victim, he removed himself from the victim’s vehicle and got into another vehicle with a second unknown suspect.  When the victim approached that vehicle, the suspect pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at him.  The victim backed away and the suspects fled the parking lot and drove south on New Hampshire Avenue toward Eastern Avenue.  Property was stolen from the victim’s vehicle.

A lookout for the suspects was provided to all surrounding jurisdictions. The suspects are described as black males, both approximately 20 years old, one last seen wearing a black “snorkel style” coat with white fur around the hood.  The other, who was armed with the handgun, had a light skin complexion and twists in his hair. The suspect vehicle is described as a gray Infiniti hatchback with Virginia tags.

This is an active investigation under case #230066658. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to please call us at 301-270-1100This incident occurred in Ward 3.”
