“Likely High Speed” Crash Closes Arcola Ave Sunday Afternoon

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a crash on Arcola Avenue and University Blvd. West at approximately 12:30pm on Sunday afternoon.

According to MCFRS chief spokesperson Pete Pitinger, the collision was likely due to high speed. The driver lost control and hit a tree. One adult was extricated from the vehicle.

According to our public safety report Cordell Pugh, “~12:30PM Sunday in the area of Arcola Avenue and MD-193 University Blvd West (Wheaton next to Northwood HS). Driver found unconscious at the scene of a roadway departure crash.” Featured photo courtesy of Google Maps
