MCFRS Respond to Collision Involving Passenger Bus Sunday Night; Multiple Injuries

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) have responded to a call for a collision involving a passenger bus at the intersection of Layhill Rd. and Bel Pre Rd. on Sunday night.

According to MCFRS chief spokesperson Pete Piringer, various units have responded to the crash, with at least one person initially trapped inside one of the vehicles involved. There are “multiple injuries”, per Piringer. Some lanes are currently blocked at the intersection.

In an 8:10pm update, Piringer stated that two patients suffered priority 2 trauma (serious l/urgent injuries) and four patients suffered priority 3 trauma (non-urgent injuries). Montgomery County Police has issued the following traffic advisory: “Westbound Bel Pre Rd. is closed at Layhill Rd. as the result of a traffic collision. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route. Expect significant delays.”
