Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a call for a house fire with a report of a person trapped on Cedar Lane, off of Veirs Mill Rd., in Rockville at approximately 6am on Wednesday morning.
According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, multiple units arrived at the single family home to find a fire seemingly coming from an under construction addition section of the home. All occupants were able to get out and were accounted for without injury.
Crews were able to put out the fire, which was coming from where the addition meets the existing house, and mostly cause damage to the exterior of the home near an attached shed. Damage is approximately $20k and one family has been displaced, per Piringer.
