Police Respond to Assault Involving Suspect With “AR-15 Style Rifle”

On December 12 at approximately 10:00 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 6300 block of New Hampshire Avenue (Advance Auto Parts) for an assault that had just occurred involving a suspect with an “AR-15 style rifle.”

According to police, “Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim requested the suspect move his illegally parked vehicle.  While outside, the suspect entered the rear of his vehicle and pulled out an AR-15 style rifle and threatened the victim.  The suspect got into his vehicle and fled southbound on New Hampshire Avenue in a white Nissan Sentra with Virginia tags.

The victim was not seriously physically injured during the incident. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’6, mid-30’s, green eyes, thin, light red beard ad last seen wearing a brown “beanie” and brown boots. A lookout for the suspect was provided to all surrounding jurisdictions.
