Maryland Department of Emergency Management Raises State Activation Level to ENHANCED Ahead of Saturday’s Potential Winter Storm

The Maryland Department of Emergency Management (MDEM) has raised the State Activation Level (SAL) to ENHANCED in preparation for the incoming winter weather system expected to impact the State on Saturday.

Per the State Activation Level Guidelines, “Enhanced: Incident or event requires additional monitoring or resources. Core EOC Staff with potential augmentation from selected agencies, functions, and organizations.”

While the storm isn’t expected to bring much winter precipitation to some parts of the state, northern and western Maryland remain under a Winter Storm Watch with a few inches of snow possible.
