MCPS Updates to Code Orange for Wednesday, January 17th


Update: MCPS has updated to Code Orange

Code Yellow / Delayed Opening – Schools and Central Offices Opening 2 hours Late Due to persistent icy conditions and significantly low temperatures, MCPS Schools and central offices will open two hours late on Wednesday, Jan. 17.


All operations, including bus transportation and full-day prekindergarten, are delayed by two hours from the regular schedule. Morning Head Start and morning prekindergarten are canceled. Afternoon part-day prekindergarten classes will begin at their regularly scheduled time. Field trips and other activities and programs that begin at 10:30 or earlier (such as the Thomas Edison High School of Technology) are canceled. Childcare and Community Use occur as scheduled. Parents should check with their childcare provider.
For Employees: 10-month staff report two hours late. 11-12-month staff report two hours late.
