Montgomery County was featured in the Weekend Update segment of Saturday Night Live last night, with the hosts poking fun at the crash through the Bethesda Whole Foods that occurred last week.

Weekend Update is a satirical news program that comments on and parodies current events. It is the show’s longest-running recurring sketch, having been on since the show’s first broadcast, and is typically presented in the middle of the show immediately after the first musical performance.

The crash took place last week at Whole Foods Market at 5269 River Road in Bethesda. According to reports, the vehicle was driven through the front door of the building and stopped in the back of the produce department. According to Assistant Chief with MCFRS David Pazos, units arrived to find two occupants with non-life threating injuries, both of which refused transport. A pedestrian was also struck, suffering minor injuries and did not require hospitalization. The cause was still under investigation and not released.
