The Takoma Park Middle School Boys Basketball team completed their second straight undefeated season this week, as the winter season comes to an end for middle school sports.
“After so many 8th graders moving on to high school there was a need for players to step up this year.” Head Coach Mike Miller told us. 8th graders Mania Nkafu, Alpha Kargbo and James Park took charge to lead the team to their second consecutive undefeated season. “They will be missed next year but the team will have plenty of experienced 7th graders to take the reins.”
The team battled in many close games this year, but showed poise, focus, and grit pulling out each hard fought win. Coach Mike Miller did a great job getting every player into each game to contribute to victories. “The home games were electric with many TPMS students attending to support their players. Best of luck to the 8th graders moving on to high school next year!” Miller said. The team thanks everyone who helped this year and those who came out to support them. A couple photos below:
