Walgreens Has Closed its White Oak Location

Last month we let you know that Walgreens, located at 11215 New Hampshire Ave. Suite A in the White Oak Shopping Center, would be closing this month. The store is now closed and signage has been removed.

According to CNN, Walgreens operates almost 9,000 stores in the United States and expects to close the 150 US locations by the end of its fiscal year, August 31, 2024. The locations that were due to close were not specified. A replacement for White Oak location has not been named. The shopping center is also still looking to fill the large space that was the longtime home of Sears until 2021.

Founded over a century ago in 1901, there is a Walgreens within 5 miles of 78% of Americans. In addition to retail and pharmaceutical products, the company also invented the world’s first chocolate malted milkshake. An exact closing date was not provided by the store, but a representative told us “next month.”
