Several in Custody Following Shots Fired and Hit and Run Saturday Evening

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) responded to the 4100 block of Garrett Park Rd. in Silver Spring for the sound of shots at approximately 5:30pm on Saturday evening. Police tell us that upon arrival officers observed a vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed and spoke to multiple witnesses who observed a male shooting a firearm into the woods.

“Shortly after, a vehicle matching the description observed leaving the scene of the non-contact shooting was involved in a hit and run in the area of Randolph Road and Selfridge Road. Officers were able to locate the vehicle. All suspects were quickly apprehended and taken into custody, including those that fled during the hit and run.
A firearm has been recovered from the suspect vehicle. No injuries have been reported. There is no threat to the public at this time.”
