
Update 2:12am: The fire has been extinguished
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) have responded to a call for a “small brush fire that is getting larger” in the area of Great Seneca Creek and Cabin Branch Creek near Apple Ridge Rd.
According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, multiple units responded shortly before 9pm and are still working on controlling the fire as of 10:10pm. The wind-blown fire in a remote/limited access area along the creek and involves grass, brush, and trees.
In an update provided at 2:12am, early Thursday morning, Piringer stated that the fire was extinguished utilizing floating pumps and water from the nearby creek. The fire occurred at the rear of the 19500 block of Tiber Ct. No word on the cause of the fire.
