Two Local Universities Included in List of “Top 25 Men’s College Basketball Programs of All-Time” List

@CBKreport, a popular social media account covering college basketball on various platforms, has released its “Top 25 Men’s College Basketball Programs of All-Time” list (seen below). Two local programs made the list- Georgetown University and the University of Maryland.

At the top are big-name programs that have been powerhouses for years. Kentucky comes in first followed by UNC, Kansas, Duke, and UCLA to round up the top 5. Back to back defending National Champs UCONN comes in at 6 followed by Indiana, Louisville, Villanova, and Michigan State to round up the top 10.

11-15 is comprised of Michigan, Syracuse, Arizona, Ohio State, and Cincinnati. Coming in at 16 is Georgetown, a “DMV” srea school that won a National Championship in 1984, but has struggled a bit as of late. The Hoyas are followed by NC State, Arkansas, Marquette, and Florida at 20.

#21 is Oklahoma State, followed by Illinois. Maryland, another “DMV” area school that won its National Championship in 2002, is ranked 23rd. Houston and Wisconsin round out the list.

Currently, Georgetown plays in Big East and finished last season 9-23 overall and 2-18 in the conference. Maryland plays in the Big Ten conference and finished last season 16-17 overall with a 7-13 record in the Big Ten.
