Wootton High School in Shelter-In-Place Due to Bomb Threat


Update: The Shelter-in-Place at Thomas S. Wootton HS has been lifted as of 10:48 am. 911 emergency services have completed their assessment and deemed this a non-credible threat. Classes and other activities have resumed as planned inside our building.

Wootton High School has communicated that the school is in a Shelter-in-Place due to a bomb threat at the school. The full message communicated to families can be seen below:

“Thomas S. Wootton is in a Shelter-in-Place as of 10:15am due to a bomb threat in our school. 911 emergency services have been contacted.

This is done to ensure emergency responders have access. We will update the school community with any information as it becomes available and is verified. Classes and other activities will continue as planned inside our building and our exterior doors will remain locked.

Our communication will come as frequently as is possible dependent upon safety and in collaboration with emergency responders. Please do not come to the school at this time.”

At 10:34am, police tweeted: “Wootton High School is in a shelter-in-place and Albert Einstein High School has been evacuated following bomb threats at each school.”
