MCPD Special Victims Division Asking for Home Surveillance Video After Attempted Sexual Assault

Montgomery County Police are investigating an attempted sexual assault that occurred on Tuesday, April 23.

Per the news release: The Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division, Sex Assault Unit is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who attempted to sexually assault a Silver Spring woman.

On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at approximately 7:55 p.m., the female victim was entering her home in the 9200 block of Second Avenue in Silver Spring, when the male suspect confronted the victim, entered her home, and began to physically assault her. The suspect attempted to sexually assault the victim, but she fought back, and the suspect ran from the home.

MCPD 3rd District officers responded to the address and began a search for the suspect, who is described as a Black male, between 5-feet, 10 inches and 5-feet, 11-inches, approximately 20-years-old, thin build and wearing dark clothing.

SVID detectives are asking for neighbors with home security cameras, who may have captured images of the suspect to call 240-773-5050
