Update on Sunday Evening Crash

On Sunday we reported on Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) and Rockville City Police responding to a collision involving a vehicle into a tree at the intersection of Shady Grove Rd. and Research Blvd. Assistant MCFRS Chief David Pazos provided an update on Monday evening.

According to Pazos, “MCFRS responded to a collision at Shady Grove Rd/Research Blvd (Rockville). MCFRS located a single car collision with fire involvement. Driver was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. No other occupants or injuries occurred.”

Original Report– Rockville Police tweeted the following at 6:35pm: “RCPD units are on the scene of a motor vehicle crash on Research Blvd. at Shady Grove Rd. The intersection will be closed for an extended period of time. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use other routes of travel.”

The intersection remained closed for several hours before reopening on Sunday night.
