In what seems to be unfortunate timing for an ice cream shop, Cold Stone Creamery will be closing its Olney location from June 1st until the fall of 2024 as it moved to a new location within the shopping center. We have since learned that Classic Bakery will be moving into the space that Cold Stone is vacating.
Cold Stone will reopen this fall at 18159 Village Center Dr., the current home of Eye Works Olney. An employee of Eye Works told us that it will be relocating a couple miles down the street at the Silo Inn shopping center (16800 Georgia Ave).The Silo Inn Shopping Center, built in 2007, is a 28,072-square-foot neighborhood center located near the ICC in Olney, Md. The property is home to Roots Market, Starbucks, and Sister’s Sandwich & Such. Below you can see what’s written on a note on Cold Stone’s doors courtesy of Jim Frye:
