Developing: Two People Have Been Found Dead Near Montgomery County Park

10:55pm Update: This incident is being investigated as a homicide. According to police, “At approximately 6:57 p.m. Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District and Maryland – National Capital Park Police officers responded to the 500 block of Thayer Ave. for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located two 20-year-old males dead at the scene. There are no suspects in custody at this time. This is an active and ongoing investigation.” We will provide an update if additional information becomes available.

8:09pm Update: With details limited at the moment, public safety reporter Cordell Pugh is reporting that two people have been found dead near Nolte Local Park in Silver Spring after a reported shooting. According to Pugh, Both people were pronounced dead on the scene.

Park Police and Montgomery County Police have both shared information regarding the incident. Park Police tweeted “Our officers along with @mcpnews are on scene of a shooting a Nolte Local Park in Silver Spring. Officers located two shooting victims. More information will be released as it becomes available.”

Montgomery County Police tweeted, “MCPD is assisting @ParkPolice on scene of a shooting in the 500 block of Thayer Ave. Officers located two shooting victims. More information will be released as it becomes available.”
