Mackie’s Barbecue Offering a Free Meal to Teachers in Need Following News of Potential Cuts

Mackie’s Barbecue Co., a locally owned and operated restaurant with locations in Olney (full-service), Potomac (catering and delivery apps), Gaithersburg (catering and delivery apps), Frederick (full service), and Clarksburg (food truck), has decided to step up and offer a meal on the house for any teacher and their family who may be affected by potential MCPS cuts.

“It’s unfortunate that Montgomery County Public Schools is reducing the workforce, and we know this impacts many of you. To all the amazing teachers, our family wants to help. If you or your family need a meal on the house, please message us. It’s our way of saying thank you for your dedication and hard work. #thankyouteachers” Mackie’s shared on social media.

The restaurant has full-service locations in Olney and Frederick as well as catering locations that offer items through delivery apps in Gaithersburg and Potomac. They also recently opened their food truck at Clarksburg Market, but details are limited regarding opening hours, etc. We’ll have those soon. Any teacher who may be in need following the news can reach out to Mackie’s via social media here.
