Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a call at the Northwest Branch Trail 10700 Columbia Pike for an “injured person from fall onto rocks” on Wednesday afternoon.
According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, the response involved a technical rescue from the creekside using a rope & rigging slope.
In an update, Piringer stated that the adult hiker fell about 30 feet onto rocks landed/ended up by creek’s edge. The adult hiker was extracted and suffered priority 2 trauma (serious injuries). Photo courtesy MCFRS.
