Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a a fire at a two-story unit in the area of Layhill Rd and Norbeck Rd at approximately 10pm on Wednesday night.
According to MCFRS chief spokesperson Pete Piringer, the unit/house appears to be vacant or unoccupied with nobody around. Upon arrival, crews encountered a fire that’s showing from both the first and second floor of the house/unit.
The fire is in a non-hydrant area so the water supply task force has been requested and dispatched as of 10:30pm. In an update at 10:45pm, Piringer stated the bulk of the fire on the first and second floors has been knocked down and that firefighters are working on the fire in the attic and roof. Primary and secondary searches of the house have been made. No injuries have been reported. Photo courtesy MCFRS
