District 3 Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) Commander Jason Cokinos announced the arrest and seizure of an illegal gun following a foot chase in Downtown Silver Spring.
Cokinos wrote, “MCPD day shift 3rd District officers responded to a report of a man with a gun in downtown Silver Spring. Officers quickly spotted the suspect who fled on foot….. Well, not today pal! Our officers are dedicated & after a lengthy foot chase the suspect (who has a prior robbery conviction) was arrested and officers found the handgun.
Every illegal gun 🔫 seized off the street is a prevented shooting or homicide!”
