Last month we let you know that ALDI at 737 S Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg’s Walnut Hill will be opening on July 25th. The grocery store has announced that it will be hosting a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on July 25th at 9:00 a.m.
The ceremony will take place about 30 minutes before the store opens. Customers will be allowed to enter the store immediately following the ceremony.
The store is offering a “Sneak Peek” starting on July 24th where you can “fully shop the store and find all your favorite ALDI products.” Last year, the Gaithersburg City Council approved the annexation of the shopping center, which paved the way for Aldi to move in to part of the old grocery store space and a new Sheetz to be built. Aldi will be taking over a little more than half of the space that was previously home to Weis, and Concentra, a nationwide leader occupational medicine, will occupy the adjacent space. Construction on Sheetz has not yet begun, and the gas station is not expected to open until 2025.
