On July 26, at approximately 7:06 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 1000 block of University Blvd for a report of an armed robbery that had occurred earlier in the evening. The suspects drove up to the victim, committed the armed robbery, and drove off, police say.
According to Takoma Park police, in a press release from Saturday, July 27th, “The victim was walking to his vehicle when a dark gray Dodge Grand Caravan, a four-door vehicle, approached him. The victim became fearful and attempted to flee but was unable to get far. One suspect exited the front passenger side of the vehicle, pointed a weapon at the victim, and demanded property while yelling at him. The second suspect exited the driver’s side of the vehicle and forcibly took property from the victim. Both suspects then returned to the suspect vehicle and fled eastbound on University Blvd. The victim was not physically injured. The suspects were described as:
Suspect 1: A Hispanic male last seen wearing a ski mask and all black clothing.
Suspect 2: A Hispanic male last seen wearing a surgical mask, white t-shirt, dark blue jeans, and white sneakers.
The firearm used was described as a black Glock.
Lookout information was provided to all surrounding jurisdictions. This investigation is ongoing.
