Chief Antonio DeVaul from the Takoma Park Police Department announces the arrest of Cristino Benetiz, 35, of Silver Spring, Maryland, for 1st Degree Assault.
According to Takoma Park Police, “On July 30 at approximately 11:08 am, Takoma Park Police were dispatched to the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue (Aldi’s grocery store) in response to a 1st degree assault. The suspect, identified as Benetiz, brandished a knife threatening a store employee and customer. Benetiz was able to flee the establishment on foot prior to being apprehended by police.
Benetiz was arrested, charged accordingly and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. This incident occurred in Ward 6.” Featured photo courtesy Google Maps
