At approximately 6pm on Wednesday evening, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a tree and wires down on Connecticut Ave., near Underwood Street, in Chevy Chase.
Piringer stated this occurred between Bradley Boulevard and East West Highway and it led to a ‘Severe Traffic Alert’ by Montgomery County: “Downed wires close both directions of Connecticut Avenue (MD 185) at Underwood Street. This will be an extended closure. Expect significant delays. Seek alternate route.”
