Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) have responded to a fire at the Montgomery County Transfer Station at 16101 Frederick Rd, Derwood, MD 20855. Many readers have sent in photos of the fire visible from various early areas in the county.
MCFRS chief spokesperson Pete Piringer provided the following update: “Frederick Rd, outside fire in large scrap metal pile, fire is contained, utilizing some heavy equipment to separate and douse.” Photos below.
