Upcoming Steakhouse Has Liquor License Hearing on September 5

Construction is ongoing for Bouboulina, the upcoming full-service American grill influenced by Mediterranean cuisine at 915 Meeting St. at Pike & Rose. The restaurant, which is being opened by the founders of CAVA, has a hearing for its liquor license with Montgomery County’s Alcoholic Beverage Services (ABS) on Thursday, September 5th at 11:30am.

The restaurant will feature a wood-fired grill, premium steak cuts, fresh seafood and house baked breads with Mediterranean influences that celebrate the founders’ heritage and roots. An opening date is not available, but it appears as though a later 2024 or early 2025 opening is possible for the group’s third Pike & Rose restaurant.

Ted Xenohristos, Dimitri Moshovitis, and Ike Grigoropoulos are behind Bouboulina, that will be joining a collection of popular and award-winning dining choices available in the neighborhood. Melina, which opened in 2021, is named after Dimitri’s daughter and is located on the street level of 909 Rose near the group’s first restaurant, French Mediterranean concept, Julii, which opened in 2018.

The partners are also the co-founders of CAVA, the Mediterranean fast-casual concept, which is publicly held. The upcoming restaurant is named for Bouboulina, who commanded her own fleet and private army during the Greek War of Independence and became the first woman in world naval history to become an Admiral. ThenMediterranean influence celebrates the founders’ heritage and roots.
