Hey Tea is a global tea chain founded in 2012 in Guangdong, China, by Neo Nie, a then-19-year-old entrepreneur. Its first planned Maryland location will be at 891-F Rockville Pike in Wintergreen Plaza.
According to H&R Retail, the shop will be located between Wingstop and Paisano’s in the space currently occupied by Sweetfrog. A call to Sweetfrog went directly to a full voicemail box, so timing is uncertain on the new Hey Tea store.
The first U.S. Hey Tea store opened last summer on Broadway in New York City, followed by a second store in Flushing, NY and additional New York locations later on. Earlier this summer, Hey Tea launched its first West Coast location in Beverly Hills to lines out the door.
Per a Hey Tea press release, the store will offer three categories of its foundational products: Refreshing Real Fruit Teas, Real Dairy Milk Teas, And Refreshing Finest Teas. Offerings such as Very Grape Cheese (Original), Very Grape HEYTEA (Original), Mango Grapefruit Sago, Roasted Brown Bobo Milk (Original), and Regal Aqua Green Jasmine Cheese (Original) will also be available.
