Purple Line MD has shared via social media that track installation at the Piney Branch Rd. And University Blvd intersection in Silver Spring has been completed ahead of schedule.
The construction made the area a bit difficult to navigate with some travel lanes and left turns affected. The full notice by Purple Line MD can be seen below:
“Great news! Track installation at the Piney Branch Road and University Boulevard intersection has been completed ahead of schedule. Travel lanes and left turns are now restored, though the median lanes will remain a work zone. While supplemental lane closures and pedestrian detours may still occur to support Purple Line construction, the project is gaining momentum as we continue to advance construction daily one track at a time. Thanks for your patience and stay tuned for more updates!”
