Dylan Lewis, a 25-year-old Pennsylvania man, has been sentenced after pleading guilty for the rape of a 13-year-old Montgomery County, MD girl that he met through an online video game.
As part of a plea, Lewis was sentenced to 20 years suspend all but four to serve (four years of jail time), and five years of supervised probation upon release. He will also have to register as a sex offender for life, according to the office of the Montgomery County State’s attorney.
According to a report by PennLive, “Lewis admitted traveling to Maryland to meet the girl who he had met through the online video game called “Wild Animal.” He had sex with her in a rental car at a pull-off along a highway and he knew the girl, who police said was 13, was underage, he said. Investigators discovered the girl’s bra when they searched his home.”
The following information, courtesy of PennLive, has been taken from Pennsylvania court documents:
- Lewis had been communicating with the girl over a three-month period first through a video game and then by texts and phone calls. They exchanged sexual and nude photographs.
- The two agreed to meet on Dec. 31, 2022. Lewis drove to Maryland, picked up the girl on a street near her home and they engaged in intercourse.
- The young girl, who underwent a sexual assault forensic examination, provided police a picture of Lewis along with personal information including age, state of residence and telephone number.
- State police in Pennsylvania on Jan. 18, 2023, attempted to execute a search warrant at Lewis’ home north of Montoursville but learned he was working in Richmond Twp., Tioga County.
- He was located there and his cell phone was seized. An examination of its contents revealed images or videos of the girl nude or performing a sex act.
