In July we let you know that the Best Buy space located at 15750 Shady Grove Rd. in Gaithersburg’s 270 Center will be “coming available” on February 1st 2025. Store employees have confirmed that it will be closing on October 26th, 2024 (approximately thirty years after the store initially opened the location in the mid 90s).
klnb has been marketing the space for a couple months now as a “rare box opportunity” for 46,155 square feet with a virtual tour of the location also available on the klnb website. As far as we are aware, there are no plans to close nearby locations in Germantown and Rockville.
In March Best Buy stated that the company closed 24 stores last year and it was reported that Best Buy planned to close between 10 to 15 stores nationwide by 2025. The Gaithersburg store will be a part of those closings.
