A Cantina is currently operating as a ghost kitchen through delivery apps, offering pizzas like the Baiana (tomato sauce, ground Calabrian sausage, hard-boiled egg, chili sauce), Special Tuna (tomato sauce, mozzarella, tuna, sliced onion, catupiry), Portuguese (tomato sauce, ham, hard-boiled egg, sliced onion, green corn, mozzarella), and Beef Stroganoff. We will provide an update when the opening date is confirmed.

Bangkok Garden
Bangkok Garden has leased the space that was the longtime home of Good Fortune Cafe in Kentlands Square. Good Fortune Cafe, which has been serving the area since 1994 (according to its website), closed in August and is planning to return to a new location (news coming soon).

Bangkok Garden first opened started back in 1984 by two Thai immigrants, Visith and Yupin Laohapant, who came to America in hopes of being able to share a part of their culture through Thai Food. They served the Bethesda community for 37 years later before closing in 2021.

The restaurant opened a Rockville location in November 2019, with a menu focus on Thai street foods– “the hot, sizzling, tasty dishes that you would find in the night markets of Bangkok and Chiang Mai.” We are told the Kentlands location may have a different name, but could also offer some of the menu items from the Bethesda restaurant.

Its first location in Ballston opened in 2019, with additional locations in D.C.’s Navy Yard in 2″20 and in Shirlington, VA in 2021, according to ARLnow. “Bearded Goat Barber offers a full array of haircut styles, shape-ups, and grey blending. Buffalo Wild Wings introduced its first ‘Buffalo Wild Wings GO’ location, a scaled-down version of the restaurant that focuses on the to-go and delivery format, in Georgia back in 2020. Now, the company has signed on for its second location in the county (possibly first, depending on which one opens first).

In March 2022, we let you know the restaurant will open its first ‘Go’ concept in the upcoming Crossroads at Kensington development– a new retail development that will be located at 10619 Connecticut Avenue (at Plyers Mill Road) in Kensington. Now, we know an additional location is coming to the Rock Grove Center on the corner of 355 and Shady Grove Rd next to Qdoba.

The new-look and new-name Rock Grove Center is also currently home to mainstay Minerva, a relocated Dunkin’, Atlas Pharmacy, Rise Southern Biscuits and Righteous Chicken, and more. It looks like BWW Go is in the early stages of construction, so it’s unknown which of the two locations will open first. We’ll have an update when an opening date/timeframe is available. Featured photo shows a different BWW Go location, photo below shows the space the upcoming store will be taking.

Fans of the original Quincy’s, located just a couple miles away at 616 Quince Orchard Rd, will be happy to hear that there is no current plan to close the existing bar and grille and that ownership believes both restaurant are sustainable due to the difference in concepts.

Quincy’s was approached by a golf professional who will run the golf-side of things. TrackMan, is the system that will be used for golf games, lessons, practice, and more. It will allow also for leagues that would provide customers with the experience of playing against people all across the world or country. Existing venues like Five Iron Golf (nearby locations in Baltimore and DC and many more across the country) have similar offerings on the golf-side and  Quincy’s Club House will allow you to play against their members as well.

Non-golfers need not worry, as Quincy’s Club House will also be home to a full-service restaurant and bar. The restaurant will offer a full-service breakfast during the week and a “heavy brunch” on weekends. New cocktails and higher end wine will also be available through the bar in addition to the regular drink menu. Leagues, memberships, and even club-fittings and private lessons will be a part of the offerings. A private simulator area for businesses and other organizations to participate in team-building activities or hold special events will also be available. Each of the simulators will have couches, tvs (so you can watch games or even talk to people you’re playing against) and the ability to choose between a driving range, or simulated course from across the world. An opening timeframe has not yet been announced.
