District 3 Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) Commander Jason Cokinos announced that a stolen car pursuit ended in an arrest last night after a brief foot chase near Calverton, MD.
Cokinos tweeted, “Got one running!” 🏃🏻♂️ 🚔East County stolen car pursuit / bail out ends in arrest after a brief foot chase near Route 29 and Musgrove Rd.
Last night your @mcpnews 3rd District officers were proactively out in the community (IDA sector) when one officer was alerted by their license plate reader (LPR) to a stolen vehicle.
The car had just been stolen from our 4th District – Wheaton area. The suspects fled in the vehicle from officers, eventually bailed out of the car, and ran away trying to escape.
However, they were no match for our officers and were quickly captured.”
