Summer is coming to an end and we know of at least six Oktoberfest celebrations taking place across the county. The events take place in September and October and are listed below:
• Oktoberfest at Vanish Beer Garden in The Comus Inn in Dickerson on Friday, September 20. “Join us for a fun-filled 3 days of beer, food, live music, and games. Indulge in traditional German beers and delicious food while enjoying the lively atmosphere of our beer garden.” Additional info here. *Ticket Needed For Entry*
• The 31st annual Gaithersburg Oktoberfest returns to transform the Kentlands in Gaithersburg, with multiple stages of live entertainment featuring traditional Bavarian music & dancing, along with local, regional & national talent. The event will take place on Sunday, October 13th from 12pm-5pm. Additional info here.
• After a five-year hiatus, the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce (GGCC) has announced the return of the Germantown Oktoberfest on October 5, a free, family-friendly event that will celebrate the community’s diversity with live music, a parade, food trucks, kids’ activities, and local business showcases. • Piketoberfest returns to North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose (11870 Grand Park Ave.) on Sunday, October 6, from 12:00pm-4:00pm. “Spend the day with family and friends at North Bethesda’s premier fall festival.” Additional info here.
• The City of Rockville’s Rocktobierfest celebrates German culture with beer, bands, bratwurst and more from 11am-5pm on September 28th at Rockville Town Center. This free festival includes two stages of live music, food, beer sales by local breweries, an artisan shopping area, and activities for kids. This annual Oktoberfest event attracts nearly 8,000 people to Rockville Town Center. Additional info here.
• 3rd Annual Oktoberfest Celebration at Zinnia in Silver Spring on September 28th. “We’re partnering with local breweries Silver Branch, Lone Oak, Union, and Atlas to bring crisp and refreshing beer to our gardens. We’ll also be serving a menu of German fare curated by executive chef Danny Wells offered a la carte. Tickets are available on the Zinnia website and include entry to the event, a 12oz beer stein, and access to free flowing local festbier!” Non-drinkers need not buy tickets. *Ticket Needed For Entry*
