Takoma Park Street Festival Takes Place Sunday, October 6th

The popular Takoma Park Street Festival is back for its 43rd year on Sunday, October 6th, 2024 from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm and thousands will fill the streets of  Takoma Park to enjoy music, art, food and more.

Per Main Street Takoma, “There will be dancing in the street as eighteen bands perform on 3 stages all day with a mix of roots rock, reggae, Americana, folk, African dance music, honky tonk, Hawaiian swing and more. Holiday shopping season starts at the Takoma Park Street Festival. Local artists and makers will be selling art, jewelry, stationary, home decor, clothing, personal care products, textiles, plants, and much more with something for everyone and at all price points. Local non-profits, area politicians, schools and more have booths to share info with visitors. Many Takoma businesses move to the street for the day and visitors are also invited to stop by Takoma Park’s popular shops and restaurants along the route. There will be many great food options from Takoma restaurants, food trucks and festival food favorites all to be enjoyed on the Takoma Streetery on Laurel Avenue.  The Takoma Park Farmers Market runs nearby with 25 additional vendors. NEW VAX Station: Giant Foods and Small Things Matter will host a vaccination station in front of 7000 Carroll Ave during the festival. Giant will be offering both flu and COVID vaccines (both Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna, and child doses, if available).

NEW Fire Station Open House: At one end of the festival, at 7201 Carroll Ave, the Takoma Park Volunteer Fire Department hosts an Open House during festival hours. Bring the kids for fire safety activities, firefighter demos, touch-a-truck, pumpkin painting, games, raffles and more.

Festival Entrances: Entry may occur all along the festival route, but there are two main entrances at either end of the festival:
(1) Carroll Avenue at Eastern Avenue, NW (GPS 6940 Carroll Ave, Takoma Park): Take Metro’s Red line to the Takoma station or park in the Metro parking lot. Entrance is 3 blocks away.
(2) Carroll Avenue at Philadelphia Avenue (GPS 7201 Carroll Ave, Takoma Park): Free parking lot hosted by the TPSS Co-op at 201 Ethan Allen Avenue.
