On September 23 at approximately 3:26 am, Takoma Park Police responded to a report of an armed carjacking/robbery in the 7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue, specifically in the parking lot of the Red Carpet Inn.
According to police, “The victim parked her vehicle in the parking lot when she noticed two unknown Hispanic males approach her. One of the suspects pointed a black handgun at her while they both proceeded to pat her down, taking all of her belongings. The suspects then stole her vehicle. A short distance away, the passenger exited the stolen car and entered another unidentified make and model getaway vehicle. Both vehicles fled in the direction of New Hampshire Avenue.
The victim was not seriously physically injured. A lookout was provided to all surrounding jurisdictions. The victim’s vehicle is a 2006 green BMW 325, MD Tag #89574CL and has been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) stolen vehicle database.
