Two suspects; 33-year-old Yafet Yohannos, of Columbia, Maryland and 52-year-old Paris Cordava Williams, of Columbia, Maryland have been arrested and charged in connection with two commercial burglaries that occurred in Gaithersburg.
According to Gaithersburg Police, “On August 24, 2024 at approximately 5:18 a.m., police responded to the Lenscrafters located in the unit block of Grand Corner Avenue for the report of a commercial burglary. Two suspects who were unknown at the time entered the business by force and removed eyeglass frames.
On September 13, 2024 at approximately 4:38 a.m., police responded to the My Eye Doctor located in the unit block of Market Street for the report of a commercial burglary. Two suspects who were unknown at the time entered the business by force and removed eyeglass frames.
Detectives from the Gaithersburg Police – Investigative Section and the Street Crimes Unit developed Yohannos and Williams as suspects involved in these burglaries. On September 18, 2024 both Yohannos and Williams were apprehended and have been charged with second degree burglary, fourth degree burglary, malicious destruction of property, and theft: $1,500 to under $25,000. Both suspects were transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
On September 18, 2024, with the assistance of the Howard County Police Department, detectives executed a search and seizure warrant in Columbia, Maryland. As a result of the search, detectives discovered evidence related to the commercial burglaries and stolen property with an approximate value of over $250,000. Detectives are attempting to determine if there are additional victims.
